The Neenah community began talking about the possibility of having an outdoor swimming pool. The estimated cost of construction for this outdoor public pool was $140,000. C.B. Clark and S.F. Shattuck anonymously offered to help the city pay for an Olympic sized outdoor swimming pool where the old public swimming beach had been. They also donated the land for the pool to be built.
