1942
In 1942, the city of Neenah received national recognition. The Neenah Pool was the site for the Women’s National AAU Swimming and Diving championships. Because of World War II, there were no Olympic games in 1940 or 1944. Many of the world's finest female swimmers and divers who possibly could have placed at the Olympics competed in Neenah, Wisconsin for the AAU championships. This national event still resonates with local residents.
