1940
The pool first opened in 1940 and was a state of the art masterpiece. The pool was one of the finest Olympic-sized pools around. It had a 1,100 people capacity and a spectator capacity of 400. The pool was a T-shape and was 165x50 feet. The diving area was 75x25 feet. Manager Paul Stacker, and supervisor, Ole Jorgensen, monitored the pool attendance. In the winter of 1940, a toboggan slide was built on the top of the boys locker room to help make the pool a fun place to be year round. Dedication ceremonies for the pool took place on June 15, 1940. The ceremonies included a performance by the Neenah High School Band, the audience singing America, a welcome speech by Mayor E.A. Kalfahs, a dedicatory address given by Mr. C.F. Hedges, and also the Star Spangled Banner sung by the audience.
